Babson College, located in Wellesley, Massachusetts, recently honored Duane Morris attorney Richard J. Snyder and his wife, Marilyn B. Snyder, by naming the road leading to the Babson Executive Conference Center as “Snyder Drive.”
According to Babson President Kerry Healey, “Richard has played an instrumental role in the initial development of the Babson Executive Conference Center, which is why this honor, and the naming of Snyder Drive, is particularly fitting. The Snyders’ dedication to Babson is unmatched and I am thrilled to recognize their longstanding and unwavering commitment to Babson.”
With members of governance, community representatives and family members present, the Babson community gathered together in October to honor the Snyders’ legacy. Richard has been a valued member of the Babson community for 60 years and Marilyn for nearly 30 years.
As an alumnus of the Class of 1960, Richard is one of the most engaged and generous benefactors of the College, having played an important role on almost every governing body at the prestigious college, often noted for its “rolling hills, landscaped grounds and the seclusion and serenity of its setting.”
Richard J. Snyder has a broad background in the areas of business law, lending, real estate and international law. He serves as legal counsel and advisor to business entities of all sizes, including for-profit and not-for-profit institutions and domestic and foreign corporations.
Mr. Snyder served as a White House summer intern and was a trial lawyer with the Department of Justice before entering private practice in 1966. He continues to be active in civic and charitable endeavors, serving in state and municipal positions as well as chairing college and civic boards and committees.
A member of the American, Massachusetts, Vermont and Boston Bar Associations, he is or has been listed in Who’s Who in the East (First Listed 1986), Who’s Who in America (First Listed 1986), Who’s Who in the World (First Listed 1987), Who’s Who in American Law (First Listed 3rd Edition) and Who’s Who in Finance and Industry (First Listed 1989). In 2004, he was first listed as a Massachusetts Super Lawyer.
Mr. Snyder was a 1963 honors graduate of Boston University School of Law and an honors graduate of Babson College where he majored in accounting.
We look forward to visiting Babson soon and driving on “Snyder Drive.”
Congratulations and Best Wishes to the Snyders!
